Body Positive practice
Updated: Apr 25, 2020
I am super into fitness.
I have three children and pregnancy changed my body but I worked hard to rebuild it and I would do it all over again because my children are my greatest motivation and inspiration.
I have been made fun of and ridiculed my entire life for my body size and shape.
As I worked hard in the gym to rebuild my body I found the workouts served multiple purposes.
The most obvious is that I was getting stronger and healthier physically, but the gym has played a huge part in my mental growth as well. I see the gym as a safe haven for me to escape lifes stresses.
I have spent a lot of time being fearful to post progress pics and moments that I was proud of having accomplished because of my fear of judgement. People are cruel and intolerant.
When I wear #yoga pants I hear constant condemnation from the spectators in life.
I have a toned upper body and some extra weight around my hips and thighs. My waist is small and my hips are very wide and because of my body shape I seem to cause discomfort in some of the people I encounter.
Some have even outright called me a whore for wearing an outfit that if a woman with no curves wore would be considered "cute".
I want everyone to know that it doesn't matter what you look like or how far you come in your journey there are people who will believe in you and support you, and then there are haters who will laugh at your expense, label you with judgement, and condemn your existence.
Keep going anyway!
I love headphones because they help me tune out the noise around me. They help me repel the hate and give me space from the circumstances and physical environment.
If you are struggling with #bodyimage issues I #encourage you to #love yourself, put your headphones in, and keep going! Be your own biggest fan and use whatever #therapy works for you to keep growing!
❣Love others ❣
🗣Be quick to forgive but never forget 🌦🦄💜
